11 questions to ask an OnlyFans agency before you sign

Send every agency the same 11 questions in writing before any call: commission, fees, term, exit, login, chatters, reporting, content, exclusivity and the company behind it. A good agency answers each with a number or a clause. Below: what a good answer looks like, and the replies that should stop you.

The short answer

Reviewed

Before you sign with an OnlyFans agency, send the same 11 questions to every agency in writing and compare the replies with the contract. Ask about money first: the commission rate and whether it's taken from gross or net, what it includes, and any upfront, setup, tool or ad fees. Then the exit: minimum term, notice, exit fee, auto-renewal and any commission after you leave. Then control: who holds your login, 2FA and payouts, who writes to your fans and whether AI is involved, what reporting you get, who owns your content and marketing pages, and how far exclusivity reaches. Last, the company: its legal name, where it's registered and who signs.

The one-line test: if an agency won't put an answer in an email, it isn't a term yet.

Why ask in writing and not on a call?

On a call, an agency is at its most persuasive, and numbers said out loud are hard to quote back a month later. Written answers can be compared side by side, checked against the contract and pointed to if something changes. Run it the same way with everyone:

  1. Send the questions before any call and before you share statements.
  2. Keep every reply in one place, with its date.
  3. Ask for the contract, and match each answer to a clause.
  4. If an answer has no clause, ask for one before you sign.

Each question below can be sent as written. For a ready-to-send email covering the same ground, use the one on our how to choose an agency page. To see written answers turned into clauses, read our annotated sample term sheet. Unsure you need an agency at all? Start with are OnlyFans agencies worth it.

What should you ask about commission and fees?

Start with money: every other answer is worth less if the price isn't fixed.

  1. “What is your commission, and is it a percentage of gross or of net?”

The same percentage costs more on gross, because it's taken before OnlyFans keeps its 20%.

    Good answer
A rate, or a range with your exact rate fixed in writing before you sign, and “net” defined as what OnlyFans pays out.
    Red flag
“It depends, let's hop on a call.” No basis stated, or a rate that can move “with performance” without your signature.

Fan Fusion35–60% of net for full management, your exact rate fixed in writing after the audit. Term 01

  2. “What exactly does the commission include, and what is billed separately?”

“Full management” varies by agency. Extra invoices usually come from chatters, editing, tools and ads.

    Good answer
A list of what's included, a list of what's never billed, and ads only on a budget you approve in writing.
    Red flag
“Everything you need,” with no list, or chatters and editing billed to you on top.

Fan FusionOne commission covers the chat team, editing, reels, distribution pages and reporting. What's covered

  3. “Are there any upfront, setup, onboarding, tool or ad fees?”

A fee paid before any work is money you don't get back if the fit is wrong.

    Good answer
“None,” in writing. Or every fee listed with an amount and the date it's charged.
    Red flag
An “onboarding package” due before you start, or ad spend deducted without a budget you signed off.

Fan FusionNo upfront, setup, onboarding, tool or editing fees. Paid ads only run on a budget you approve in writing. Term 03

What should you ask about the contract and leaving?

The exit terms decide what a bad fit costs you.

  1. “Is there a minimum term, and does the contract renew automatically?”

The term decides how long you pay if nothing improves. Auto-renewal can quietly restart it.

    Good answer
The minimum term in months, or none, and whether and how it renews, all as clauses.
    Red flag
A long fixed term that renews unless you object in a narrow window, or “we don't really enforce that.”

Fan FusionMonth-to-month, no minimum term, no auto-renewal. Term 04

  2. “How much notice do I give, is there an exit fee, and do you take commission after I leave?”

Commission after the end date is usually the cost people discover last.

    Good answer
Notice in days, “no exit fee” and “no commission after the end date,” each written as a clause.
    Red flag
A buyout, or commission on “fans we brought in” for months after you go.

Fan Fusion30 days' written notice from either side, no exit fee, no commission after the end date. Term 06

What should you ask about your login and your fans?

These two answers decide how much of your account you still control.

  1. “How do you access my account, and will you ever ask me to send a password or 2FA code?”

OnlyFans has no manager role, so any chat team works inside your login. Ask how access starts and how you end it.

    Good answer
A method where you enter the 2FA code yourself, payouts staying with your bank, and a way to cut access alone.
    Red flag
“Send us your email, password and the code.” A request to change the account email, or payouts routed through them.

Fan FusionPayouts go from OnlyFans to your bank. Chat access is set up on a call where you enter the 2FA code yourself. We never ask for codes by message, and changing your password and signing out of other sessions ends our access. How access works

  2. “Who writes to my fans, under what rules, can I read every chat, and do you use AI?”

To your fans, the chatters are you. Their rules decide what gets sold and what never gets said.

    Good answer
Where chatters are based and when they work, a hard-no list you approve, read access to every chat, and an AI policy.
    Red flag
“Our team handles it,” with no names, locations or read access to chats. Or silence on AI-written messages.

Fan FusionChat runs 24/7, inside your hard-no list. Where chatters are based goes in your term sheet, and you can read every chat. Every fan-facing message is written by a human chatter. AI tools may help with editing and captions. Nothing AI-generated of you is published without your written approval. Chatting details

What should you ask about reports, content and exclusivity?

What you can check while you're signed, and what you keep when you leave.

  1. “What will you report, how often, and where do the numbers come from?”

The agency's screenshots can't be checked. Figures from your own statements can.

    Good answer
A written report on a fixed day, figures you can match to your own statements, and a regular call.
    Red flag
Reports “when there's news,” screenshots only, or totals shown on gross when you're billed on net.

Fan FusionA written report every Monday from your statements, plus a shared sheet and a monthly call. Term 13

  2. “Who owns the content you edit, and whose emails are the marketing pages registered to?”

Edited reels and marketing pages are what creators most often lose at exit.

    Good answer
You own everything, edits included; they use it only while the contract runs; pages sit on emails you own.
    Red flag
Edits that “belong to the agency,” a license that survives the contract, or pages on their emails that stay with them.

Fan FusionYour content stays yours, edits included, and we use it only while the contract runs. Creator-branded distribution pages are registered to emails you own; handles, followers and posted content go with you at exit. Terms 08–09

  3. “What does exclusivity cover, and what can I still run myself?”

Broad exclusivity can block other platforms, other providers or your own projects.

    Good answer
Exclusivity limited to the services the agency actually runs, named in the contract.
    Red flag
Exclusivity over “all online activity,” all your platforms, or your name and likeness.

Fan FusionOnly for the services we run, named in the contract. Term 10

How do you check who you're actually signing with?

Testimonials and earnings screenshots can't be checked. A company and a named signer can.

  1. “What is your legal company name, where is it registered, and who signs the contract?”

You can only hold a company to a contract if it exists and you know who signed.

    Good answer
A legal name, a registration you can look up, a named signer and where the company is run from.
    Red flag
A brand name only, a chat handle as the only contact, or “the company is still being set up.”

Fan FusionFan Fusion LLC, Wyoming filing 2024-001512683, run by a remote team around the world. The signer and the LLC's members are named in the contract you sign; the Wyoming registry confirms the LLC exists and is in good standing. How to check us

How do you get a call's answers in writing?

If an agency insists on a call, have it, then send a recap the same day and ask them to confirm or correct it. One reply of “confirmed” turns a conversation into a record.

Call recap to send any agencyTap to select all, then copy. Fill the [brackets].

What if the answers change after you sign?

A rate “adjusts,” a new fee appears, or someone asks for a login detail nobody mentioned. Your written answers and the contract are what you hold it against.

  1. Check the contract, not the call. The signed term applies until you both sign something new.
  2. Reply in writing. Quote their original answer and the clause, briefly.
  3. Don't agree to changes by chat. A new rate, term or access method should be a document you choose to sign, or not.
  4. If you decide to leave, follow the notice clause exactly. Our guide on how to leave an OnlyFans agency has the steps.
